Doctor Tran

We welcome Dr. Ngoc-Nhung Tran DMD, MS. Dr. Tran is Board Certified in Periodontics. Dr. Tran also offers IV sedation if requested. 

 Dr Tran was born in Saigon, Vietnam and her family immigrated to the United States. Her family settled in Augusta, GA.  Dr. Tran moved to California to pursue a college education.

Dr. Tran earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from San Francisco State University, and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia.​  She joined the Navy Reserve while in dental school. Dr. Tran practiced as a general dentist before returning to graduate school.  She completed residency training in Periodontics at the Naval Post Graduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontics.    

After completing Officers’ Indoctrination training at Newport, Rhode Island. Dr. Tran reported to Oaknoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, CA as a GPR resident.  She went on to serve 12 months in Diego Garcia, a British island in the middle of the Indian Ocean.  Then she returned stateside to work at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, Parris Island, SC.  She served one tour as the Dental Department Head on the USS Comstock (LSD-45) homeported in San Diego, CA.  She completed her military service at 1^st Dental Battalion/Naval Dental Center- Camp Pendleton.

Dr. Tran retired from the US Navy after completing 23 years of active service and relocated to the Bay Area.
